Limelight Custom Sign Company is always excited to be involved with Lowcountry Local First. We were thrilled to complete the boulevard banner proudly hung over Meeting Street in downtown Charleston to kick off the inaugural BUY LOCAL WEEK!

Lowcountry Local First advocates the benefits of a local living economy by strengthening community support for independent businesses like Limelight Custom Sign Company.  Buy Local is a grassroots campaign designed to educate Lowcountry residents to Think Local when they are considering where to make purchases, to Buy Local whenever possible and to Be Local by supporting businesses that keep out community unique.

Give Local Holiday Bazaar

The Give Local Holiday Bazaar will kickoff Lowcountry Local First’s “Buy Local Week” in December. The holiday bazaar will bring together local artisans, cooks, musicians and nonprofits to create an event showcasing Charleston’s rising talent and philanthropists. The event will take place at 10 Storehouse Row where the public will be invited to peruse holiday gifts, learn about local charities and sample homemade cuisine while enjoying music from local artists. This event is free and open to the public Please bring cash or checks as many vendors can not take plastic! Directions to 10 Storehouse Row!

Eat Local Night

Independent America with After Party at Zia

You don’t want to miss the viewing of the documentary film Independent America: The Two Lane Search for Mom & Pop it is an entertaining account of film makers Hosein and Hughes’s expedition through 32 states as they look for an America unchained by corporate re- tail. Self-imposed road rules bar them from major highways and corporate chain retail. Traveling on alternative roads, the duo can only do business with Mom & Pop.

The movie starts at 7:30 and we will have an after party sponsored by American Automated Payroll at Zia Taqueria with appetizers and beer!  Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door (cash or check at the door only).  Space is limited!


The Buy Local, Be Local Bash

The Buy Local, Be Local Bash will take place at beautiful Lowndes Grove.  This year’s bash is going to be better than ever with live music from the V-Tones and Cary Ann Hearst, local beer, wine and food from some of the best chefs in town including Fish, Coco’s, Monzas, Taco Boy, The Fat Hen, Maverick Southern Kitchens, Holy City Hospitality, FIG, the Old Firehouse Restaurant, Cypress, Tristan, Middleton Place and the Culinary Institute of Charleston !  Special thanks to our HEADLINE sponsor Piggly Wiggly Carolina and Local Sponsors Patrick Properties, American Automated Payroll, FireFly Vodka, The Wine Shoppe, COAST, Palmetto Brewery, Luke Wilson Events, Group Dynamics and Stage Presence!  Sponsor opportunities are still available contact Jamee for information.  Ticket for this event at $30 for LLF members and $40 for Local Economy Supporters!
